Tradiční svěcení vína na svátek svatého Jana, apoštola a evangelisty se koná 27. prosince na počest svatého Jana, kterému byla podána číše s otráveným vínem. Jan ji požehnal a vypil a jed neúčinkoval.
Proto se v den jeho svátku tradičně světí víno. Tuto tradici dodržují také v Hlohovci. Místní vinaři přinesou svá mladá vína, kterým požehná místní farář. V rámci akce proběhne také přehlídka a ochutnávka domácích pomazánek. K poslechu zahraje cimbálová muzika a vystoupí místní folklorní soubor.

Aus diesem Grund ist der Wein-Trunk an diesem Tag “heiliger Wein”. Hlohovec hält diese Tradition aufrecht. Örtliche Winzer bringen an diesem Tag ihre jungen Weine zum Priester, welcher sie segnet. Das Fest schließt auch eine Show mit ein und die Verkostung selbstgemachter Brotaufstriche. Auch die besondere traditionelle Cimbal Musik wird von einheimischen Gruppen aufgeführt.

Ein Fest des Weines, des Federweißen und -roten (österr. „Sturm“, schweiz. „Sauser“), der Musik, des Tanzes und der Unterhaltung. Des Weiteren finden eine Kostüm-Show und Ritterspiele im Zentrum der Königsstadt Znaim (Znojmo) statt, sowie ein prachtvoller königlicher Umzug.
