The traditional consecration of wine on the feast of St. John, the Apostle, the Evangelist takes place on 27 December in honour of St. John, to whom a cup of poisoned wine was served. John blessed it and drank it, and the poison did not work. Therefore, on his feast day the wine drunk is traditionally holy wine. This tradition is also maintained in Hlohovec.

Das „Valtice-Radfahr-Event“ ist eine Veranstaltung für jedermann: sowohl für diejenigen, welche sich beim Radfahren entspannen möchten, als auch diejenigen, welche ihre Rennfahr-Ergebnisse verbessern möchten. Auch dem Genuss des traditionellen „burcak“, einem „Federweißen“, bzw. „-roten“ (österr. „Sturm“, schweiz. „Sauser“) steht in der wunderschönen Umgegend Valtices nichts im Wege.
Das Herumziehen von einer Hlohovecer Weinkellerei in die nächste und die Vorführung einer besonderen Musik dort, welche “Cimbál” genannt wird, hat eine lange Tradition. In allen ca. zwanzig Kellereien sollte man sich ans Mitmachen und an die Verkostung von reichlich Wein gewöhnen.
Der Gurkenanbau in Znaim hat eine sehr lange Tradition. Das Gurkenfest bietet einen traditionellen Gurkenmarkt und ein spezielles gastronomisches Angebot, einen Wettkampf um die am besten eingelegte (Sauer-)Gurke und einen Wettkampf im „Gurken-Glas-Füllen“ auf Zeit. Ebenso befindet sich hier eine Ausstellung für Agrartechnik.
