Novomlýnské nádrže – kaskáda tří vodních nádrží – slouží ke koupání, k rybolovu, windsurfingu či lodní dopravě. Okolí je vhodné pro pěší výlety a cykloturistiku.
Po hrázi vede silnice spojující Dolní Věstonice a Strachotín. Na jednom ze dvou ostrovů, které vznikly po napuštění nádrže, stojí zbytky kostela sv. Linharta, který byl součástí dnes již zatopené obce Mušov. Kostel je jediný pozůstatek starobylé obce Mušov, ovšem pozůstatek se značnou kulturně-historickou hodnotou. Při průzkumu, již odsvěceného kostela v dnešní barokní podobě byly, odkryty gotické nástěnné malby a malba z 1. pol. 16. století. Kostel je pravděpodobně nejstarší románskou církevní stavbou na Břeclavsku. Druhý ostrov je archeologickou lokalitou, na níž bylo objeveno více než 2000 hrobů z období Velkomoravské říše. Rozkládala se převážně na území dnešní Moravy, Slovenska a Maďarska mezi léty 833–907.

On one of the two islands that remained after the reservoir was filled, are the remains of the Church of St. Linhart from the 13th century, which was part of the now flooded village of Mušov. The church is the only remnant of the ancient village of Mušov, but a remnant of considerable cultural and historical value. The church is probably the oldest Romanesque church building in the Břeclav area. The second island is an archaeological site where more than 2000 graves from the Great Moravian Empire were discovered. The ‘Moravian Empire’ existed from around the year 833 until the beginning of the 10th century.

Die Nové Mlýny Stauseen sind eine Kaskade von drei Stauseen hintereinander gereiht. Sie dienen hauptsächlich dem Fischfang, Baden, Windsurfing oder Bootsfahrten. Die Umgebung ist sehr gut für Spaziergänge und Radtouren geeignet.
Auf einer der beiden Inseln, welche übrig geblieben sind, als die Stauseen geflutet wurden, befinden sich noch die Überreste der Kirche des Hl. Lienhards aus dem 13. Jahrhundert, welche sich nach der Überflutung der Ortschaft Mušov erhalten haben.
Die Kirche ist das einzige Überbleibsel des alten Dorfes von Mušov und somit ein beachtliches Relikt von kulturellem und historischem Wert. Die Kirche ist vermutlich die älteste romanische Kirche in der Gegend von Břeclav. Auf der zweiten Insel wurden bei archäologischen Ausgrabungen über 2000 Begräbnisstätten aus der Zeit des großmährischen Reiches gefunden (etwa 833 bis Anfang des 10. Jahrhunderts).
