The traditional consecration of wine on the feast of St. John, the Apostle, the Evangelist takes place on 27 December in honour of St. John, to whom a cup of poisoned wine was served. John blessed it and drank it, and the poison did not work. Therefore, on his feast day the wine drunk is traditionally holy wine. This tradition is also maintained in Hlohovec.
In the village of Hlohovec (district of Břeclav) still lives a lively ethnographic activity. Twice a year, traditional folk costume feasts are held. The first of the two feasts is in May every year, in honour of Saint John Nepomuk, the Saint of Bohemia

Das „Valtice-Radfahr-Event“ ist eine Veranstaltung für jedermann: sowohl für diejenigen, welche sich beim Radfahren entspannen möchten, als auch diejenigen, welche ihre Rennfahr-Ergebnisse verbessern möchten. Auch dem Genuss des traditionellen „burcak“, einem „Federweißen“, bzw. „-roten“ (österr. „Sturm“, schweiz. „Sauser“) steht in der wunderschönen Umgegend Valtices nichts im Wege.
Das Herumziehen von einer Hlohovecer Weinkellerei in die nächste und die Vorführung einer besonderen Musik dort, welche “Cimbál” genannt wird, hat eine lange Tradition. In allen ca. zwanzig Kellereien sollte man sich ans Mitmachen und an die Verkostung von reichlich Wein gewöhnen.
Ein Wein- und Federweißer Fest (österr. “Sturm”, schweiz. “Sauser”) der guten Laune. Man bekommt hier viele volkstümliche Kostüme zu Gesicht, ethnographische Kinder-Ensembles, sowie Männer- und Frauenchöre. Aber auch moderne Musik hat ihren Platz auf der Bühne.
Ein Fest des Weines, des Federweißen und -roten (österr. „Sturm“, schweiz. „Sauser“), der Musik, des Tanzes und der Unterhaltung. Des Weiteren finden eine Kostüm-Show und Ritterspiele im Zentrum der Königsstadt Znaim (Znojmo) statt, sowie ein prachtvoller königlicher Umzug.
