Cyklistický závod navazuje na bohatou minulost ze 70. – 80. let, kdy do Hlohovce jezdila kompletní československá špička cyklistů k jarním nominačním závodům na Závod Míru.
V roce 2011 jsme díky podpoře hlohoveckých radních, rodáků a především sponzorů tuto tradici obnovili a opět jsme se stali „otvírákem“ cyklistické sezóny, tedy prvním jarním závodem v Čechách a na Moravě. Jde nejen o vrcholnou sportovní akci, nýbrž také o kulturní a společenskou událost.

The cycling race builds on the rich history of the 1970s – 1980s, when the entire Czechoslovak top cyclists rode to Hlohovec for the spring nomination races at the Peace Race.
In 2011, thanks to the support of councillors from Hlohovec, locals and especially sponsors, this special tradition was restored and once again Hlohovec has become the “opener” of the cycling season, the first spring race in Bohemia and Moravia. It is not only a top sports event, but also a cultural and social event.

Cucumber growing in the Znojmo region has a long tradition. The Cucumber Festival offers a traditional cucumber market and a special gastronomic menu, competitions for the best pickled cucumber, quick brew and a skill competition in filling jars with cucumbers on time. There is also an accompanying exhibition of agricultural equipment.
